Genesis 20:6 KJV [6] And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her. https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.20.6.KJV
It seemed Abimelech believed in God
Genesis 20:7 KJV [7] Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.20.7.KJV
And a great prophet he was. I believe these chapters may be parenthetical in the sense that Sarah was now 99 years old. I don’t think she was attractive enough to be taken as a wife for the king 👑. But well maybe they maintained their strength 💪 because of their times. Who knows. 😕 🤷♂️
Genesis 20:14 KJV [14] And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife. https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.20.14.KJV
Abraham prospered everywhere he went. My only question is this. What was the purpose of this sojourneying. Abraham was already very rich and had a large tribe. Was it to fulfil God’s command that he should walk through the land. Was he exploring the land he had been given in his lifetime before his generation came to inherit it?
Genesis 20:18 KJV [18] For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham’s wife.https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.20.18.KJV
Wow… Then she was kept for some time with Abimelech for them to realise their sudden barrenness.
